Farewell to Tom Cokill and Luke Newbiggin
Luke and Tom
Sunday night was bittersweet for Warriors 2 and the club as a whole, as they bid farewell to long-serving player Tom Cokill.
Over his three years with the Warriors, Tom proved himself to be a goal-scoring powerhouse and a reliable playmaker, setting up countless goals for his teammates.
His vibrant personality made him a beloved presence both on and off the ice. As Tom and his family prepare to move to Australia, the Warriors wish them all the best in this exciting new chapter. He will be missed.
Sunday also marked another significant moment for Warriors 2 as Captain and founding member Luke Newbiggin announced he’s stepping back from playing to focus on recovering from a long-term knee injury.
A cornerstone of the Leeds Warriors since its inception, Luke has been a steadfast defensive force, an outstanding leader, and an all-around great guy. The club hopes this isn’t the last they’ll see of him on the ice.
