Rich learnt to skate later in life and aimed to achieve this skill by aged 30. He jumped straight into hockey and started playing in Scotland whilst working in Glasgow.

He played for the Glasgow Mustangs whilst in Scotland but as a Sheffield lad, he split his hockey time between the two cities - also representing the Sheffield Blazers.

Rich is a highly dependable and fearless D man and has struck up a great partnership with fellow D man, Paddy Horner.
