Warriors 1 defeated by Gryphons

A thrilling game saw our first team narrowly lose to the Gryphons, despite out-shooting them 33 to 32.

The Warriors had raced to a 0-2 lead in the first 2 minutes and looked in great shape. But unfortunately, went into the first interval 4-2 down.

After gathering themselves during the break, the Warriors came back stronger and drew the second period 2-2, making the score 6-4 to the Gryphons.

In the final period, the guys threw everything they had into the game and tied the game at 7-7 with 3 minutes to go.

Sadly, the Gryphons broke free in a dangerous area and took an 8-7 lead with approximately 2 minutes left on the clock.

Despite a barrage of shots on the Gryphons goal, the Warriors couldn’t find the equaliser and it finished 8-7.

A thrilling game to watch and big thanks to the fans who came out to cheer the team on.

Special mention to Warriors 1 Coach Alex Jones who came out of playing retirement and scored a hat trick!
