Warriors 2 defeated by Ice Wolves
In team news; the team were without their captain - Niku Ghaemi. Also, in the absence of Ben Cohen, the team were able to call on the services of Warriors 1 netminder Lewis Pickering.
1st period
It wasn’t a great start for the Warriors as they conceded within the first 27 seconds of the game. However, the Warriors kept battling and there were no further goals until the 12th minute. Unfortunately, Luke Cadman picked up a 2 minute minor penalty for holding which put the Ice Wolves on the power play - which they took advantage of, making it 2-0 Ice Wolves.

2nd Period
With the Warriors only two goals down, it was still all to play for. The team were able to stay in the game and despite pushing for a breakthrough, conceded a third goal on 26 minutes. It was now 3-0 Ice Wolves. This was followed by a 2 minute tripping penalty for Louis Feather, meaning the Warriors were back on the penalty kill. The Warriors valiantly killed off the penalty but, at even strength the Ice Wolves notched up their 2nd of the period and 4th of the game to make it 4-0.
Within a few more minutes, the Warriors had picked up two more minor penalties for interference and too many men on the ice - and unfortunately, both of the Ice Wolves powerplays resulted in goals, resulting in a 6-0 score-line by the end of the second period.

3rd period
With the team now playing for pride, the final period saw a marked improvement compared to the second period. This was despite the Ice Wolves scoring their 7th within 50 seconds of the restart. The Warriors only picked up one minor penalty so were at full strength for the majority of the period. Whilst the Ice Wolves picked up a minor penalty of their own, unfortunately the Warriors couldn’t capitalise and get on the board. But, the Warriors were able to keep the Ice Wolves at bay for the majority of the final period, as they only conceded one more goal, with just over one minute remaining on the clock.
Final score

A tough night for Warriors 2. But there’s nothing to be disheartened about as this was the Ice Wolves’ A team who are an established, strong non-checking team.
