Warriors 1 to play in Cobras tournament

Our Warriors 1 team are competing in the 2023 Kingston Cobras tournament at Hull Arena for the second year running.

The team made their tournament debut at the same event last year and managed to make the semi-final stage in what was a great weekend of hockey (and heavy drinking).

The tournament consists of 10 teams, split into two groups.

The other competing teams are :

Kingston Cobras, Durham Dragons, Cleveland Comets, Don Valley Vikings, Blackburn Falcons, Dumfries Demons, Peterborough Dynamo, Paisley Blackhawks and Sheffield Samurai.

Games will consist of two 17 minute periods with a running clock and in accordance with ‘Jonkers rules’.

The tournament takes place on the weekend of Saturday 10th June and Sunday 11th June.

Adult weekend tickets are £15 and kids are £10 (under 16).

Adult day passes are £10 and kids are £5 (under 16).

Tickets/wrist bands are purchased on entry.

Unfortunately, there are some notable absentees in the Warriors roster for the tournament - Alex Jones (F), Wes Nixon (F), Jacob King (D), Ash Pryce (F), Tom Mallon (D), Lewis Astill (F) and Niku Ghaemi (F)

The Warriors are familiar with a lot of these teams already, having played against them in challenge games and the Northern Recreational Hockey Cup (NRHC).

The standard of opposition is very high, so the guys are aware of the task ahead of them. Let’s see if our guys can make an impact in this tournament. Go Warriors!
