Farewell and thank you

This week we were told of the sad news that defence-man #71 Paddy Horner would no longer be playing for the Warriors 1.

This is due to his other commitments and the travelling distance for games and training. Paddy is an established hockey official (refereeing up to Elite league level) and this puts a lot of pressure on his spare time, so we understand the decision.

Paddy has been part of the club since day one. He was at the original trial in August 2020 and has been involved in our off-site training and pre-training yoga sessions. He even sacrificed his game time by refereeing a Warriors game when the officials could not make it.

Paddy was a great guy to have around the changing rooms, extremely encouraging of others - and a solid and accomplished D man. It’ll feel strange to not have Paddy around anymore. He’ll be missed on and off the ice, but we wish him all the best.

No doubt our paths will cross again.

Thanks Paddy.
